louise mcFarlandHOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Ella (Louise) McFarland, age 76 of Madisonville, KY passed away into the loving arms of God at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at her home.

"Louise" was born May 4, 1935 in Barnsley, KY the daughter of the late William Henry Johnson and Jessie Mae Christian Washington. She was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church in Barnsley, KY where she was a member of the choir and culinary department. She retired from York International Corp. in Madisonville after 15 years, attended Rosenwald High School in Madisonville, and was an avid UK fan.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert McFarland, Jr. in 1991; one son, James Albert McFarland; and two sisters, Lillie Mae Washington and Cora Lee Washington.

She leaves behind to cherish loving memories one son, Shawn DeWayne McFarland of Louisville, KY; four daughters, Anita Louise Allen (George), Donna Fay McFarland, and Jennifer Gayle McFarland all of Madisonville and Sandra Elaine Tesch (Todd) of Waukesha, WI.; three brothers, Frank Washington (Flo) and George Washington (Karla) both of Madisonville. And James Washington (Lillie) of Columbus, OH.; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Hughes (Lloyd) of Madisonville, KY. and Bobbie Jo Reaves (Calvin) of Cleveland, OH.; nine grandchildren, Chris McNary, Kimberlee Scott, Jordan Tesch, Conner Tesch, Gaylin McFarland, Anitra McFarland, Kentora Hampton, Sherika Day, and DeShawn McFarland; three great grandchildren, Calil McNary, Khristian Watkins, and Jeremiah Brown; one special aunt, Cordie Mae Johnson of Greenville, KY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Her live will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville. The Reverend Robert L. Cottoner will officiate. Her resting place will be in Westside Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at the church.

Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville, KY is in charge of the arrangements.
