obit17HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Betty Jean Taylor Lancaster, 77, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away at 11:59 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

A native of Trigg County, Kentucky she was born March 20, 1934 the daughter of the late Bartley and Dean Taylor. She had worked and Duncan & Son Florist and later helped start West & Witherspoon Florist. She was a member of Second Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher and longtime financial secretary.

Survivors include her husband: Wilford T. Lancaster; her brother: Dr. William B. Taylor of Hawesville, KY; and her sister: NaDean T. Boaz of Madisonville, KY.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert D. Lawrence and Rev. Dr. Howard H. Willen officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the giver’s favorite charity.
