Nevelene Gladys Davis Brown, 96, of Madisonville, KY

 

BROWN NEVMADISONVILLE, KY - Nevelene Gladys Davis Brown, 96, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 2:11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Brighton Cornerstone Healthcare in Madisonville.

She was born on June 20, 1915 in Dawson Springs, KY to the late Munce Davis and Minnie Laffoon Davis. She was founder and former owner of Brown Rest Home/Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Owen Brown in 1990; four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three sons, Shelby Brown, Sr. of Franklin, KY, Larry Brown of Danville, KY and Steve Brown of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Maurice Montgomery and Rev. Don Fortner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Sanders, Evan Sanders, Todd Rutland, Gene Brown, Seth Brown and Wes Clements. Honorary pallbearer will be Shelby Brown III.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church in Madisonville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
