Shirley Jean Ray, 76, Henderson

 

obit16HENDERSON, KY - Shirley Jean Ray, 76, Henderson, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Redbanks nursing home.

She attended Christ Corner Church and The Lighthouse Church.

Shirley Jean Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray, who passed away in 2001, and one son, Eddie Ray, who passed away in 2006.

Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Ray of Madisonville; two sons, Gordon Dale Ray and his wife, Sandy, of Evansville and Steven Ray and his wife, Vickie, of Henderson; four grandchildren, Kenneth Zachary of Paducah and Rachelle Ray, Joshua Ray and Jessica Ray, all of Henderson; and one great-grandchild, Nicholas Zachary of Madisonville.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. A.G. Winters will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Russell, Kris Jenkins, Nathan Crews, Dillard Chambers, Kenneth Zachary and William Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert Floyd and Nick Zachary.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.
