Jewell Hanson Mart, 91, Crofton

obit14CROFTON, KY - Jewell Hanson Mart, 91, Crofton, passed away at 9:12 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at his daughters home following a brief illness.

A native of Christian County, he was born April 1, 1920, the son of the late Jewell Mart and Tommie Brasher Mart. He was a W.W.II Army veteran having attained the rank of Staff Sgt. He retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell and later worked at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Hunt Mart, in 2005.

Survivors include three sons; Charles Wesley Cook of Sandborn, IN. E. Ray Mart of Crofton, KY and Darrell Cook of Hopkins County, KY. Two daughters; Carolyn Fay Hammell of Plant City, FL. and Loretta Jean Owens of Crofton, KY. Twelve Grandchildren.

Funeral services were Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Crofton with Rev. Alan Hopper officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Ridgetop Cemetery.
