Mabel Rose (Johnson) Oglesby Morgan, age 97, of Benton, KY

 

flowerBENTON, KY - Mabel Rose (Johnson) Oglesby Morgan, age 97, of Benton, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at 9:45 a.m. at the Northbrooke Health Care Center in Jackson, TN.

Born March 16, 1914 in Hopkins, Co., KY., she was a loving homemaker, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother, she also retired from the General Motors Co. in Detroit where she worked in the Fisher Body and Fleetwood Divisions. She was a charter member, Sunday school teacher and children's church leader at Christian Fellowship Church in Draffenville, KY. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Dawson Springs, KY.

She is survived by; one daughter, Ohna Jo Jordan of Jackson, TN., two step-sons; Jimmy Morgan of Benton, KY., Jerry Morgan of Dearborn Heights, MI., and one brother, R.G. Johnson of Dawson Springs, KY. Five grandchildren; Greg Jordan, wife Melinda Laycook of Jackson, TN., Tony Jordan, wife Renee' Sherrill of Henderson, TN., Theresa Oglesby Gribble, husband Bob of Harrisburg, IL., Chris Oglesby of Nashville, TN., and Renee Oglesby Douglas, husband Ed of Roanoke, VA., and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Ira Layton Morgan, one son; Jack L. Oglesby, four sisters; Lillian Bylinowski, Dorothy Kaminski, Evelyn Miller and Opal Goodson, two brothers; William Ray Johnson and Marlin Johnson.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Dr. J.T. Parish will officiate. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Madisonville, KY.

Friends may visit with the family after 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 until the funeral hour at 11:00 a.m. at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
