Mary Lois Langdon, of Madisonville

 

LANGDON OBITMADISONVILLE, KY - Mary Lois Langdon, 85, of Madisonville, KY, passed away at 6:45 A.M. Sunday January 1, 2012 at Medco Center of Health in Henderson, KY.

She was born September 5, 1926 in Madisonville to the late Clarence and Flora Durham. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Glendell Phelps; Leonard “Buddy” Phelps and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Langdon was a member of Women of the Moose and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was known as the lady with the Christmas Lights and Santa on Hall St.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Langdon of Madisonville; four daughters, Lois Phelps Walp of Indianapolis, IN; Clarrica Phelps Tielking of Knightstown, IN; Earleen Phelps Davis of Mortons Gap and Debra Griffith Dexter of Madisonville; one son, Edgar “Eddie” Griffith of Earlington; 30 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren and 27 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
