MADISONVILLE — Paul Thomas Hobgood, 83, Madisonville, passed away at 5:28 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Earlington. He was a steel mill worker, a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and Purple Heart recipient, a past member of American Legion Post No. 161, a present member of American Legion Post No. 6 and a member the NAACP.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Anna Bell Kirkwood Hobgood, who passed away Feb. 17, 2000; and his parents, Roland and Emma Louise Jones Hobgood.
Survivors include his caregivers, including his niece Paula Snorton of Madisonville and Susan Gipson; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert L. Cottoner will officiate. Burial will be in Westside Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
