MADISONVILLE, KY - Bettie Jean Peebles Denison, 79, Madisonville, Kentucky and formerly of Hopkinsville, passed away at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville of natural causes.

Additional funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Campground United Methodist Church in Hart County, Kentucky preceded by a visitation there from 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.. Burial will follow in Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery.

A native of Hart County, Kentucky born May 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Coy Cashmer and Cora Mabel Hodges Peebles. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in Princeton, Russellville and Cub Run, Kentucky schools. She was a member of Hopkinsville First United Methodist Church and the widow of Rev. Oliver Marvin Denison who passed away in 1995.

Survivors include two sons; Marvin D. Denison and his wife Cathy, Hopkinsville and Mark D. Denison of Murray, Kentucky, one daughter, Marsha D. Woodall and her husband Chris, Madisonville, one stepdaughter, Margie Templeman and her husband Riley, Cave City, two sisters; Norma Reynolds and Marilyn Hodges, both of Louisville, seven grandchildren; Steve Wright, Rex Wright, Kevin Wright, Erin Denison Namie, Adam Denison, Elizabeth Woodall and Garrett Woodall and four great-grandchildren; Tessa Wright, Charles Wright, Misha Wright and Talon Namie.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2012 at Hopkinsville First United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Howard H. Willen. Pallbearers will be Steve Wright, Rex Wright, Kevin Wright, Kevin Hodges, Danny Reynolds and Marc Namie. Visitation at First United Methodist Church will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville in charge of arrangements.
