Richard Cope, age 64, of Benton, KY

BENTON, KY - Richard Cope, age 64, of Benton, KY, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at his residence in Benton, KY. He was a welder for Progressive Rail. Mr. Cope was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

He was the son of the late Irvin Willard Cope and the late Zelma Lugene (McCain) Cope.

He is survived by his wife: Kathy (Peck) Cope, Benton, KY; Three Daughters: Debbie King, Thompson Station, TN, Sara Logue, Benton, KY, Lyndsey Cope, Benton, KY; One Son: Clint Cope, Benton, KY; Two Brothers: Russell Cope, Benton, KY, Wayne Cope, Benton, KY; and grandchildren: Dylan King, Garrett Logue, Maggie King, Grady Logue.

He was preceded in death by his son: Richard Bradley Cope.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 13, 2012, Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at Cole Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Collier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Lustgarten Foundation-Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
