Dennis Metts, age 78, of Benton, KY

BENTON, KY - Dennis Metts, age 78, of Benton, KY, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton. He was retired from BellSouth where he worked as a manager, and was a member of the AT&T Pioneers.

Mr. Metts was a veteran of the US Army.

He was the son of the late Fred Simpson Metts and the late Onie B. (Hataway) Metts.

He is survived by his wife: Patricia "P.J." Metts, Benton, KY; Two Daughters: Lisa Balton, husband Robin, Memphis, TN, Laura Harris, husband Jeffrey, Kevil, KY; Two Sons: Michael Metts, wife Cynthia, Vista, CA, Troy Metts, wife Brenda, Loganville, GA; sisters: Fredda Hobgood, Vicksburg, MS, Veta King, Memphis, TN, Anita Pennington, Memphis, TN; and 8 grandchildren: Rachel, Emily, and John Balton, Memphis, TN, Courtney and Zachary Metts, Loganville, GA, Katherine, Matilyn, and Hadley Harris, Kevil, KY.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 20, 2012, Rev. Don Wilson officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Moreland Cemetery, Gilbertsville, KY.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Collier Funeral Home on Friday, October 19, 2012.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Myelodysplastic Syndromes Foundation, 4573 South Broad St. Suite 150, Yardville, NJ 08620.
