Kenneth Yates, 67, of Southaven, Mississippi, formerly of Fredonia

EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Kenneth Yates, 67, of Southaven, Mississippi, formerly of Fredonia, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013, at his residence in Mississippi after a short illness.

Mr. Yates was retired as Supervisor of Hazardous Waste of Western KY (EPA) in Paducah and Madisonville with 25 years' service. He was owner and operator of the former Yates Photography in Fredonia. Mr. Yates was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Kuttawa and was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lenore Easley Yates; one sister Patsy Weaks, and her husband, Billy, of Kuttawa; two nephews, Steven Weaks and his wife, Susan, of Paducah and Jason Clemmer of Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Marie Yates.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2012 at Chestnut Oak Cemetery in Lyon County with Rev. Mac Anderson officiating. There will be no visitation or service.

Immediately following the graveside service there will be a time to offer condolences to the family at the Community Room of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Highway 810 in Kuttawa.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Chestnut Oak Cemetery Fund, c/o James Smith, 6355 Highway 62 West, Kuttawa, KY 42055 (OR) The Humane Society of the United States,

Dept. MEMIT9, 2100 L. St. NW, Washington, DC 20037.

Arrangements are being handled by Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.
