Forrest Edward Butler, 79 of Benton, KY

BENTON, Ky. - Forrest Edward Butler, 79 of Benton, KY passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at his home in Benton, KY.

Born Monday, December 11, 1933 in Milan, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Abner Butler and the late Idell (Thomas) Butler.

He was a retired Sergeant Major for the US Army and served his country during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Butler was a member of First Baptist Church, Benton, KY.

Surviving are his wife, Mary "Joyce" (Bolerjack) Butler of Calvert City, KY, daughters, Tanya Joyce Teddleton of Benton, KY and Sharon Grooms of Dyersburg, TN, brother, Jackie Butler of Trenton, TN; 14 grand children; 7 great grand children.

He was predeceased by sons, Gary Butler, Rodney Stewart and Charles Butler, daughter, Melissa Duerkes, brother, Jim Butler.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Don Wilson and Rev. K. Alan Miller officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Double Springs Cemetery, Milan, TN.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Collier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Calvert City Convalescent Center, P.O. Box 7, Calvert City, KY 42029.
