Hazel Croft Mayes of Eddyville, KY

EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Hazel Croft Mayes, 76, of Eddyville, KY passed away at 4:25 A.M., Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Mrs. Mayes was former secretary for KY Asphalt in Kuttawa and retired with over 20 years service as secretary for Southern States Asphalt, a division of Ashland Oil in Kuttawa. She was a member of Eddyville First Baptist Church in Eddyville.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Thweatt Breedlove and her husband, Mark, of Eddyville and Vicki Bynum and her husband, Joe, of Lyon County; one son, Ricky Mayes and his wife, Stephanie, of Henderson, KY; two grandchildren, Derrick Thweatt and Collin Mayes; one great grandchild, Kaylee Thweatt; two brothers, Conley Croft and his wife, Jeannie, of Eddyville and Billy Croft and his wife, Sue, of Calvert City; one sister, Martha Wilson and her husband Kenneth, of Eddyville; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lee Mayes on January 31, 2001. Her parents were Charles \"Charlie\" Croft and Virginia Parrish Croft.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with Rev. Tim Perdue officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hazel was a strong lady who loved the Lord, was full of strength and never complaining. She was spunky, an outspoken lady full of life who enjoyed having her family around her and watching them laughing and having fun.
