M.C. Ruggles, age 88 of Benton, KY

BENTON, Ky. - M.C. Ruggles, age 88 of Benton, KY., passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY.

Born Wednesday, February 11, 1925 in Gilbertsville, KY., he was the son of the late Milo Clayton Ruggles, Sr., and the late Dovie (Lowery) Ruggles. He was the retired owner of the M.C. Ruggles House Moving Company, a member of the Briensburg Baptist Church and he also honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Mary (Foley) Ruggles of Benton, KY., one son, Steve Ruggles of Grand Rivers, KY, two daughters, Donna Freeman of Calvert City, KY and Jennifer Ruggles of Westlake, LA, one brother, Rudy Ruggles of Gloucester , NJ. 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Michael Ruggles and Tony Wahl, two sisters, Juanita Chiles and Zelma Jones and one grandson, Jerry Steven Ruggles.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Rev. C.C. Brasher and Rev. Brad Walker are to officiate. Interment with military honors will follow the service in the Provine Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.
