Joan Kevil Lawson, 74, of Eddyville, KY

EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Joan Kevil Lawson, 74, of Eddyville, KY passed away at 10:16 P.M. Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Mrs. Lawson loved children and was a daycare provider for several years. She was former secretary for the Metro Special Police in Paducah and was a member of Suwanee Baptist Church in Lyon County.

She is survived by two daughters, Lori Thorpe and husband, Tim, of Eddyville, Lisa Daniel and husband, Jeff, of Symsonia; one son, Danny Story of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Ashley Herron, Brooklyne Watson, Chandra Thorpe, Ryan Thorpe, Tyson Morris, Tiffany Morris, Daniel Story; four great grandchildren,Ty Story, Kadence Morris-Smith, Treyson Herron and Braydon Kirk; one brother, Charles Kevil of Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Lawson and a great granddaughter, Riley Ann McCaslin-Thorpe. Her parents were Charles Kevil and Elizabeth Mann Kevil.

Services are scheduled for 12:00 P.M. Monday, April 15, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery in Lone Oak.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.

Mrs. Lawson was a very dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother with not a selfish bone in her body. She loved her family and spending time with them was her greatest joy. She liked to fish, work in her flowers and she loved her two little dogs who kept her company each day and night.
