Dorothy Sue Dunn, age 88 of Benton, KY

BENTON, Ky. – Dorothy Sue Dunn, age 88 of Benton, KY, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 6:10 a.m. at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, KY.

Born June 21, 1924 in Marshall County, KY, she worked for the International Shoe Company in Paducah, KY, and was a member of the Palma United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was member of the church administrative board.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Walker Dunn, wife Carla of Benton, KY; one daughter, Glenda Jean Vasseur, husband Joe of Benton, KY; three grandchildren, Heather Renee Dunn of Benton, KY, Anthony Lee Vasseur, wife Jessica of Benton, KY, James Andrew Vasseur, wife Kayla of Benton, KY; and four great-grandchildren, Maggie Vasseur, Anna Vasseur, Kaden Vasseur and Addie Vasseur all of Benton, KY; two sisters, Mary Helen Gregory of Benton, KY and Martha Lou Noles of Benton, KY, one sister-in-law, Ann Ford of Benton, KY, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Audie (Canup) Parker; her husband, James Walker Dunn to whom she was married February 22, 1947 in Corinth, MS; three brothers, Rex Parker, Joe Parker and Will "Peewee" Parker; and one sister, Shirley Miller; two sister-in-laws; three brother-in-laws; one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Rev. Ben Northcutt will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Palma United Methodist Church, 2816 U.S. Hwy 68 West, Benton, KY 42025
