Mr. Walker was a retired science teacher for the Crittenden County High School with 35 years’ service. He raised and trained horses for riding and was a long time self-employed farmer. He was a member of Eddyville Church of Christ where he also served as an elder of the church. Mr. Doyle was a loving husband and father. He was not a sportsman of any type; he wanted to spend his time with his family, his church family or doing work on his farm.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Davis Walker and William Walker and his parents, Percy Lee Walker and Lena Bell Castleberry Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Emma Baker Walker; three sons, Bill Walker and wife, Cheryl of Bentonville, ARK, Don Walker and wife, Sherri of Benton, KY and Joe Walker and wife Cheryl of Kuttawa, KY; nine grandchildren, Lynette (Bryan) Hannaa, Alan (Faith) Walker, Sarah Wilks, Amy (Mike) Dominski, Joni (Jared) Morgan, Stephen Walker, Lori (Michael) Patterson, Andy (Stephanie) Walker, Lana (Sean) Bell; seventeen great grandchildren, Trevor, Trent, Abby, Peyton, Taylor, Michaela, Emmalee, Hope, Eden, Isiah, Sam, Lucy, Beau, Rosie, Addie, Grady, Claire; three brothers, Odell Walker and wife, Wanda of Kuttawa, Ky., Ray Walker and wife Ava, and Roy Walker and wife, Betty, all of El Pasco, ARK; nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel with Jerie Barber, Andy Walker and Bill Walker officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 at Lakeland Funeral Home.
