TRAFFIC ALERT – Milling and Paving Projects on Coleman Road and Lone Oak Road Neighborhoods

asphalt1 kytrans 300PADUCAH, KY (5/2/13) – Starting Friday, May 3, City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works crews along with a contractor will begin the milling and paving of a section of Coleman Road in addition to two neighborhoods off Lone Oak Road. Crews expect to complete the milling early next week which includes working Saturday. The paving will start next week and should take approximately one week to complete, weather-permitting.
 
The section of Coleman Road that will be repaved starts at U.S. 60 (Hinkleville Road) and extends north to the Paducah city limits. During the street resurfacing work, crews expect to keep one lane of Coleman Road open.
 
The streets in two neighborhoods off Lone Oak Road will be resurfaced starting this week as well. The neighborhood across from the Lone Oak Road and Berger Road intersection will be repaved including Chestnut Street, Walnut Street, Oak Street, Hickory Street, Davis Avenue, and Sanders Avenue. The neighborhood adjacent to Interstate-24 at the intersection of Nolan Drive will be resurfaced including Nolan Drive, Vermont Street, Petter Avenue, Ridgeview Street, Topeka Avenue, and Olympia Avenue. Residents in these neighborhoods should expect temporary delays.
 
For the safety of the crews, drivers are urged to find an alternate route on each of these projects. Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices.
 
This street rehabilitation project is part of the City of Paducah’s annual street improvement plan. Part of the funding is provided through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Municipal Aid Program (MAP). MAP funds are collected from the State gas tax and are allocated for maintenance, reconstruction, or construction of city streets. The City of Paducah maintains approximately 220 miles of streets.
