Stella Elaine Hopkins, age 60, of Benton, KY

BENTON, Ky. - Stella Elaine Hopkins, age 60, of Benton, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her home. Born July 12, 1952 in Halsted England, she was a member of Vaughn's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she was also a Gideon International Auxiliary member. She was a graduate Paducah Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Murray State University. She was a Registered Nurse and was the Director of the Geriatric Rehabilitation unit at Murray Calloway County Hospital, Murray, KY.

She is survived by her husband, Steven P. Hopkins of Benton, KY, her mother: June (Whiting) Whitear of Coggeshall, England, one daughter, Terri Franklin of Calvert City, KY; two sons, Alex Hopkins of Benton, KY., and Justin Hopkins of Paducah, KY, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Three sisters, Sheelagh Whitear of Wenterton - On - Sea, England, Dawn Whitear of Darlington, England and Janet Clarkson of Felixtowe, England, two brothers: Darren Whitear of Braintree, England and Chris Camp of Braintree, England also survive.

She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Whitear.

Funeral services will be held at Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Rev. Wendall Ordway will officiate.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
