EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Jim N. Creekmur, age 75, of Eddyville, KY passed away Tuesday, November 5 at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Creekmur received his bachelor's and master's degree from Murray State University. He started his career at Lee Potter Smith Architecture Firm in Hopkinsville, KY. He was very instrumental in the design of many buildings in the area. He also worked as a drafting instructor at the Ky State Penitentiary and then was promoted to the position of principal at the KSP Vocational Center. He was transferred later in his career to the Somerset Vocational School as the assistant director in Somerset, KY. He retired in 1996. He and his wife, Nancy Anne, enjoyed intensive traveling throughout Europe and the United States
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton, KY.
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy Anne Dunn Creekmur of Eddyville; one son, Steven Troy Creekmur and wife, Robin of Acworth, GA; two daughters, Suzanne Wallace and husband Steve of Princeton, KY and Charlotte Lynne Haws and husband Darren of Franklin, TN; one brother, Kenny M Creekmur and wife, Judy, of Princeton, KY; six grandchildren, Leslie Martin Purdue, Laura martin Scott, Evan Matthew Haws, Jackson Dunn Haws, Logan Brantley Creekmur and Jordan Bailey Creekmur; one step grandchild, Stephanie Wallace Rasch; two great grandchildren Ella Kate Scott and Wyatt Dickerson and 1 step great grandson, Wacey Rasch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Troy Creekmur and Velma Jackson Creekmur.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9 at Lakeland Funeral in Eddyville, KY. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Russ Davidson, Rev. Dane Hodges and Rev. Douglas Downing officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Eddyville, KY.
