The Madisonville Fire Department received an alarm from Central for a structure fire at approximately 12:23 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at 1901 south Main St., Exotic Florist. Upon the crews arrival, they found light smoke showing from the C-D corner. A walk around was then performed and then Engine – 15 crew was advised by the employee that the fire was in the kitchen.

The fire was quickly knocked down around the stove and cabinet area. The utilities and gas to the structure were shut off. Positive pressure ventilation was established to clear the smoke from the structure. A primary and secondary search was performed.

After re-establishing power to the structure Engine-3 crew isolated the damaged electrical fixtures so that power could be established for the walk in coolers.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be items touching a hot burner on the stove that ignited.
