Merle Ford Downs, age 87, of Cadiz, KY

 

obit16CADIZ, KY - Merle Ford Downs, age 87, of Cadiz, KY, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz, KY.

Merle Ford Downs was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, member of WMU and choir member. She had worked at the International Shoe Factory and was the co owner of Downs Gable Shop in Trigg Co., KY.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents William Albert & Annie Emmaline Bridges Ford, Husband Burwick Downs, Brother Howard Ford, Brothers In Infancy Henry Kirland Ford and Willie Glenn Ford, Sisters Mavis Wolfe, Earle Adams and Marie Calhoun.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2011.

Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2011 with the Reverend Hal Shipley and Reverend Paul Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Cemetery in Trigg Co., KY. Memorial
