Hallie Comet Poe, age 101, of Benton, KY

 

1flowerBENTON, KY - Hallie Comet Poe, age 101, of Benton, KY, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011, at 10:35 a.m. at the Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Born March 19, 1910 in Marshall Co., KY., she was a homemaker and was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Lewis Reeves and the late Addie Bethel (Binkley) Reeves.

She is survived by two sons; Billie D. Poe of Benton, KY., and L.E. Poe of Norfolk, VA., nine grandchildren; Gregory Poe of Washington, D.C., Toni Tucker of Mayfield, KY., Gina Darnall of Benton, KY., Paul Poe, Marty Poe, John Poe, Pete Poe all of Norfolk, VA., Larry Poe of WI., and Belinda Poe. Several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martin L. Poe, one son, Bobby Poe and one daughter, Vanda Voisine. Twelve brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 28, 2011at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. Elder Robert Chandler will officiate.

Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, Benton, KY.

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund, c/o Cheryl Beasley 2871 Griggstown Rd., Calvert City, KY 42029.
