Perry Calhoun, 99, of Eddyville

 

blueskyEDDYVILLE, KY - Perry Calhoun, 99, of Eddyville, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Rivers Bend Retirement Center in Kuttawa.

Mr. Calhoun was retired from the Army Corp of Engineers at Barkley Dam and Kentucky Dam in Lyon, Livingston and Marshall counties as lock master. He was a WWII Navy veteran and a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He was a 77 year member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #167 in Eddyville and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyon County.

He is survived by one son, Seldon Calhoun of Eddyville; one daughter, Jane (Harry) Wicks of Butler, KY; five grandchildren, Gina (Craig) Thompson, Todd Calhoun, Stacy (Bob) Patel, Michael Calhoun, Zackery Wicks; six great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Emily, Sarah, Noah, Olivia and Faith; one sister, Freida Foley of Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Edna Lois Duncan Calhoun; one son, Nolan Calhoun; three sisters, Edna Glenn, Rosa Lee Barnett and Marie Duncan; three brothers, Raymond Calhoun, Johnny Calhoun, and an infant brother, Matthew Calhoun His parents were John Earl Calhoun and Bertha Kuhn Calhoun.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with Rev. C. C. Brasher officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2011 at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Masonic rites at 7:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
