BENTON, KY - Scotty Joe Brewer, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on December 5, 2011 in Benton, KY.
It is with a sad human heart that the family of Scotty Joe Brewer must announce his death from this world. However, it is with a joyous Christian heart that we are able to say that on Monday, December 5th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon Scotty Joe Brewer left this old world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Scotty was a member of Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
Scotty leaves behind his parents Glen and Joquita Brewer of Benton along with two sons, Elijah Gage Sloan-Brewer and Zion Scott Brewer, his fiancé Amy Beth McCoy all of Nashville, Tennessee two brothers Rickey Houser and William Brewer, wife Felicia, a sister Jessica Watkins, husband Brock, his grandfather Olen Houser and several nieces and nephews all of Benton. Scotty has joined his paternal grandparents Grady and Virginia Brewer (Papaw, Mamaw) and his maternal grandmother Emma Nell Houser (Honey) at the right hand of our Heavenly Father.
Scotty was a 1993 graduate of Marshall County High School and a 1995 graduate of John Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer at Collier Funeral Home in Benton Kentucky. Scotty took great pride in his work and often exceeded the families expectations for their loved ones.
He will be remembered mostly for his ability to light up a room with his smile, quick wit and sense of humor. Scotty never met a stranger and could make even the hardest of hearts laugh. He will also be remembered as having a big heart and being a loving father to his two sons. Elijah and Zion were the joy of his life.
Friends are welcome to celebrate Scotty's life with his family at Collier Funeral Home after 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 8th and join the family to lay his earthly body to rest on Friday, December 9th at 1:00 p.m. Through God's Word, Brother Joe Thorn, Brother Chris Moore and Brother Joel Frizzell will be honoring Scotty's life. Interment will follow at Edwards Cemetery, Benton, KY.
