Mary Lou Outland Swann, age 99,of Murray, Ky.

 

flower03MURRAY, KY - Mary Lou Outland Swann, age 99,of Murray, Ky., died Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Ky.

She was born August 5, 1912 in Calloway Co., Ky. to the late Jabe Waldo and Meda Ona Ward Outland. She was a 1930 graduate of Murray High School, and a 1936 graduate of Murray State University with a B.S., Mrs. Swann was a retired school teacher from the Murray City School district having taught 5th grade. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Murray, Ky., the Pairs & Spares Sunday school class, and taught for 62 years in the primary department of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Swann is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Alice Jones and husband Jackie of Murray, Ky., one son Fred Swann and wife Christie of Murray, Ky., two grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy Hoffman Swann, two brothers, Everett Ward, and John Edward Outland.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Kerry Lambert will officiate, and burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
