Carl Hunt, age 78, of Benton, KY

 

obit7BENTON, KY - Carl Hunt, age 78, of Benton, KY, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012, at 10:25 p.m. at the Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Born March 20, 1933 in Chicago, IL., he was a retired police officer for the Chicago Police Department and retired from the Marshall County Sheriffs Office.

He was the son of the late Zora Hunt and the late Delie (Nimmo)Hunt.

He is survived by one daughter; Laura Rubarth of Crete, IL., three sons; Paul Muller Hunt of Benton, KY., Richard Hunt of Steger, IL., Russell Hunt of Cape Coral, FL., one step-son, James Quinlan, III of Streamwood, IL., one step-daughter; Desiree Quinlan of Streamwood, IL, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Catherine (McCarthy) Hunt, one son; Glenn Hunt and one step-daughter; Michelle M. Muller. Also preceding in death are one brother; Charlie Hunt and one sister; Mattie Kader.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY

Prayer services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.

Fr. Jason McClure will officiate.

Private graveside services take place in the St. Henry's Catholic Church Cemetery in Aurora, KY.

Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2011 at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Great Rivers Affiliate, P.O. Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693-5120
