Katherine E. (Alton) Lax, 86 of Murray, KY

 

MURRAY, KY - Katherine E. (Alton) Lax, 86 of Murray, KY passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.

Ms. Lax was born in Greenville, MO on April 7, 1925 to the late Ed Alton and Hazel Heaton Alton. Ms. Lax a retired beautician, who was the owner and operator of the Murray Beauty Shop. Ms. Lax was a member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents Ms. Lax was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Alton.

Ms. Lax is survived by one daughter, Patsy M. Roling and husband Gary of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one son, Terry L. Lax and wife Linda of Hooks, Texas; four sisters, Jo Shanklin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jean Woods, Carolyn Maxlow and husband George, and Shirley Morton and husband Ed all of Murray, KY; one brother, James Alton and wife Carolyn of Hazel, KY; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Gene Burkeen officiating. Burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
