Granville Lovings, 95

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Granville Lovings, 95, widower of Verna Collier Lovings, passed away Jan. 6, 2013. He was born May 2, 1917 in Livingston, Kentucky to the late Farris Thomas and Ida Browning Lovings. Granville was a Purple Heart recipient while serving in the Army during WWII. He was a charter member, Deacon, Sunday school teacher at Broadway Baptist Church, and a U.S. Post Office Clerk.

Survivors include; two sons, Granville Cecil (Judy) Lovings, and David Allen (Cathy) Lovings both of Lexington; one daughter, Phyllis Ann (Harold) Terry of Catlettsburg, KY; three sisters Opal Davis of Lexington, KY, Ruth Roeck of Atlanta, GA, and Mable Ann Russell of Georgetown, KY; one brother, Elmer Cecil Lovings of Richmond, KY; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.

Active Pallbearers for the funeral include, Mary Ritchie, Daniel Lovings, Darlene Lovings, Steve Ritchie, Evyian Terry, Kevin Terry; Honorary Pallbearer is Denny Otis.

Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Wed. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Rd. with burial to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5 – 9 pm Tues. at the funeral home.
