LEXINGTON, Ky. - William (Bill) Morgan Hartley (Major USAF Retired), age 79, widower of Marie J. Gibson Hartley, passed away January 5, 2013. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of the late Arthur and Dorothy Dean White Hartley and was a graduate of Henry Clay High School and the University of Kentucky. Following a 20 year career in the Air Force, he was employed by the former First Security National Bank & Trust Company as a credit analyst, credit manager, and assistant vice-president. He was a life member of the Military Officers Association of America and a member of Broadway Baptist Church, where he served as Treasurer for 20 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri H. (James) Adamson and Donna K. Eads; four granddaughters, Kelly H. (Jason) Mosley, Maura L. and Lindsey G. Adamson, Amanda B. Eads and one grandson, Cody A. Eads, all of Lexington. He was preceded in death by a son, William Allen Hartley.
Services will be 11:30 AM Tuesday at Milward-Southland, conducted by Rev. James Heard and Dr. John Birchett, Jr, with interment in the Versailles Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Mon. Memorial contributions are suggested to Broadway Baptist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
