James Vernon Littleton, 86

LEXINGTON, Ky. - James Vernon Littleton, 86, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 14, 1926 in Lexington, he was the son of the late James William and Lottie Conn Littleton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in World War II on the USS LST 957 in the South Pacific. He retired as an electronic technician from Bluegrass Army Depot, enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid UK basketball fan.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anna B. Wilson Littleton; a son, Pat (Judy) Littleton of Georgetown; a daughter, Jeanene Lauerman of Spring, TX; a brother, Russell (Helen) Littleton of Lexington; a sister-in-law, Ina Carol Wilson of Lexington; five grandchildren, Joshua Lauerman, Krista Clancy, Jamie Bland, Jason Littleton, and Jennifer Gatewood; and two great grandchildren, Isabella Clancy and William Gatewood. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Littleton; and three sisters, Norma Littleton, Millie Ford, and Jewell Hillard.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Main Street. Burial will be private at the Wilson Family Cemetery in Quincy, KY, Lewis County. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
