LEXINGTON, Ky. - Margaret Scully Schwendeman, 82, widow of Gerald J. Schwendeman, passed away at her home on Fri., Jan. 11, 2013 surrounded by her family. Born in Lexington on Sept. 5. 1930 to the late Tillie Kearney and Martin J. Scully, she married “Jerry” on Sept. 6, 1952. A third-generation Lexingtonian, she was a 1948 graduate of St. Catherine’s Academy, and life-time member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John K., Martin J., and Donald B. Scully, and sister, Annelle Scully. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Michele (Ken) Vicini; Meghan (Joe) Thompson; Judy Spencer; and Jennifer (Darrell) Douglas; and sons, Jerry (Pam) Schwendeman; Nick (Lynda) Schwendeman; and Father Danny Schwendeman, all of Lexington; 13 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Judy S. Moore; and brother, Timothy C. Scully, both of Lexington.
Funeral Service will be at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 with Father Danny Schwendeman and Father John Curtis presiding. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5pm -9pm Mon., Jan. 14, 2013 at Milward-Broadway.
