LEXINGTON, Ky. - Rosenell Shea Kelley, 94, was born on June 10, 1918 and left this world on January 14, 2013.
Curtis was the love of her life, and extremely devoted to Rosenell. Rosenell was a homemaker, a volunteer at Wright Patterson Air Force Base during World War II, a part time real estate agent, a member and former president of the Central Kentucky Women’s Club, and a member of Central Christian Church. Rosenell and Curtis loved to attend UK games, travel, be with family, go ballroom dancing and play with their Boston Terriers.
Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated parents, James and Lela Shea. She was also preceded in death by Curtis Preston (C.P.) Kelley, her husband of 60 years.
She is survived by her cousins, Alma Stokley Dunn (Tom), Jo Ann Stokley Elam, Jimmy Stokley (Pat), Ronnie Stokley (Carolyn) and Tim Elam (Elaine). She is survived by her nephew, Joe Vaughan and niece, Judy Vaughan. Rosenell has been blessed for many years to have had a wonderful, caring and supportive sister-in-law, Ruth Vaughan.
Visitation will be 12-2 pm Thurs. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Graveside services to follow at the Lexington Cemetery at 2:30 pm. Pallbearers will be Doug, Luke, and Joshua Elam, Sam Dunn, Judy Vaughan and Jimmy Neeley. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Breckinridge for providing high quality care filled with love and compassion in a positive Christian environment; thanks to Hospice of the Bluegrass for their support to Mrs. Kelley and the family; and special thanks to Elaine Elam, for including Rosenell in her life in various ways, and the numerous efforts she has made in helping with her care.
