LEXINGTON, Ky. - Conrad Henry Zimmerman, 92, of Lexington, KY widower of Ruth Zimmerman, died Friday, January 18, 2013.
He was retired from the Mine Service Company in Hazard, KY.
A native of Wheeling, WV, he was the son of the late Conrad H. and Eleanor Griffin Zimmerman - Green. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps 71st Bomb Squadron, 38th Bombardment Group where he attended the rank of Sgt. having served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was also a member of the Church of God on Old Paris Road.
Survivors include two sons, John Marshall (Kirtley) Zimmerman, Lawrenceburg, KY and Robert “Bobby” (Dorothy) Zimmerman, Georgetown, KY; one half brother, John Green, Lexington, KY; six grandchildren, Cindy Newkirk, Kristen Maxson, Jamie Zimmerman Peek, Bryan Zimmerman, John Zimmerman and William (Billy) Zimmerman; 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his step father John Green and a half brother, George Green.
Graveside service will be 2 PM Wednesday at the Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:30 until 1:30 PM Wednesday at Milward - Southland.
