LEXINGTON, Ky. - Smith, Allen Montaine, 23, a resident of Lexington, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013. Born in Paducah, KY, he attended Montessori Pre-school in Rhinelander, WI and public school in Laona, WI. Allen attended elementary, middle and high school in West Hall County, GA. He attended Free Chapel Worship Center in Gainesville, GA, where he was baptized and participated in the youth ministry. He was on the football team and later graduated from Montgomery County High School in Mt. Sterling, KY and continued his education at Bluegrass Community and Technical College in Lexington, KY. Allen enjoyed playing basketball, playing in local tournaments in Lexington, he enjoyed dancing, but his passion was recording, producing and creating music. His production company, MontaineBeatz, which Allen founded and developed, produced beats for various artists. Allen was a protégé producer for Jazze Pha, Atlanta, GA, who produces for various artists, including Ciara, Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige and T.I. Music was Allen Montaine Smith’s passion.
He is survived by his parents, best friend and brother Jarrett Terrell Smith; paternal grandmother, Janie Hughes and grandfather, Willie Hughes; aunt, Tiffany and uncle, Yule, and a host of cousins, all of Saginaw, MI; his girlfriend Patrese Olding and her family, as well as closest friends Tyler Johnson and Chris Price; and a host of extended family and friends, including Jerriann V. Harris and family, Chicago, IL, Carolyn Smith and family, Harrisburg, IL, Lonnie G. Boyd and family, Washington, DC, Josephine & Ernest Garrett and family, Flossmoor, IL and Jackie Evans and family, Lexington, KY.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tarlee and Willie Smith, Chicago, IL. Allen was an organ donor. He donated seven organs to save six lives. A special thanks to KODA and everyone who showed attention to our family at this time. Funeral service will be 6 PM Friday at Milward-Southland, 391 Southland Dr. Visitation will be 4-6 M Friday.
