LEXINGTON, Ky. - William L. (Bill) Blythe, Jr, 92, widower of Della Fairdale Scott Blythe, retired bus driver with Lex Tran, passed away Sun, Feb 3, 2013. Born in Fayette County, he was the son of the late William L. Blythe, Sr and Marie Stewart Adair. Bill coached Northern Little League for 18 years, and won the 1979 Kentucky State Little League 12 year old Championship. He was Kentucky runner-up two years in a row shooting trap, received the Remington Star, was a former fishing guide at Dale Hollow Lake and was a life-long member of the Lake Ellerslie Fishing Club. After his retirement, he served as a funeral associate with Milward Funeral Directors and was a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children, Jane Griffin, William Earl (Brownie) Blythe, Mark Anthony (Lee) Blythe, all of Lexington, and Thomas Shelby (Marilyn Adamson) Blythe, Jessamine County; twelve grandchildren, Billy, Wesley, Randy, Aaron, Jeffrey, Jamie, Blythe, David (serving in Afghanistan), Adair, Shelby, Julia and Noah; as well as six great grandchildren, Finley, Sydney, Lily, Reagan, Jackson and Leo.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Wesley Blythe and sister, Jean Blythe Steele.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wed at Milward-Southland, conducted by Dr. Bill Henard. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tues. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
