Barbara Gilpin Mayfield, 61

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Barbara Gilpin Mayfield, 61, wife of the late William Edward “Ed” Mayfield, passed away Sun. Feb. 3, 2013 at her residence. Born Dec. 9, 1951 in Paintsville, KY, she was the daughter of Ella Daniel Gilpin and the late Gerald S. Gilpin. Mrs. Mayfield was a retired employee of the KY State Government.

Survivors include two brothers, Gerald (Gail) Gilpin, Lawrenceburg, KY and William “Bill” (Lisa) Gilpin, Lexington, KY; a sister, Carol (Jim) Lodmell, Millville, KY; two nephews, John and Steven; three nieces, Daisy, Kristie, & Brittany; and two grand-nieces, Kaylee and Brooklynn.

Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Fri. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Entombment will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thurs. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the UK Children’s Hospital, (for Heart Research), 800 Rose Street, Lexington, KY 40536.
