LEXINGTON, Ky. - Joan Frantz Stoll, our dear Mother, Sister, and Grandmother, passed away peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father and her widowed most beloved Arthur J. Stoll on February 8 2013.
Born July 11, 1931 in Lexington, KY, she was preceded in death by her mother, Blanche Frantz; two brothers, James and Robert Frantz; and special brother-in-law, Ralph Prather Glidewell. She was a graduate of Henry Clay H.S., Good Samaritan School of Nursing and EKU Masters School of Nursing Administration. From hospital nurse, physician’s practice nurse, teacher, and finally as a nurse recruiter at the University of KY Medical Center, she was well respected during her nursing career. She was known as a compassionate nurse, intense and caring teacher. She was very creative individual, who enjoyed the natures of life, her family, entertaining, travel and church. She always had a special place in her heart for her canine companions over the years. She was an active member in the church all of her life as a member of Maxwell St. and Second Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children, Deborah A. Stoll-Thompson (Mark), Richmond KY, Stephen M. Stoll (Kimberly), John Lawrence Stoll, Lexington, KY; her special grandchildren, Hunter Stoll Stith, La Grange, KY, Stephen M. Stoll, II, Lauren B. Stoll; great-grandchild, Camden Whitten; her dear sister, Betty F. Glidewell; all of Lexington KY. She is also survived by the families of Daniel and John Stoll of San Diego, CA.
Funeral services for Ms. Stoll will be held on Tuesday Feb. 12, at 12:00 pm at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday Feb. 11, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Woodford and Lexington Humane Societies or the American Heart Association.
