LEXINGTON, Ky. - Chris Michael Reichert, 55, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 24, 2013. Chris had a big heart full of love for his family, who loved him as much.
He is survived by his love and best friend Kathy Collins, daughter Sara Reichert Murrell (Brian), son Waylon Reichert (ChVonne), and grandchildren Breckon and Brooks Reichert. Preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Berniece Reichert of Montezuma, Ohio, Chris also is survived by brothers Steve Reichert (Patricia) and Michael Reichert (Frannye); niece, Erin Reichert; and nephews Zachary, Zane, Zebedee and Zekiel Reichert, all of Ohio.
He will be missed and fondly remembered by the Collins family. Graduating Celina High School in 1975 and Heidelberg University in 1979, and inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for both, Chris still holds basketball records at Heidelberg for career high field goals made and attempted, rebounds, and is third all-time leading scorer. Two-time all-Ohio Athletic Conference. Until recently Chris held the Division II baseball career strikeout record. He was a longtime loyal employee of Reynolds & Reynolds.
Visitation at Kerr Brothers on Harrodsburg Road Thursday, February 28, 12:30-2:30 p.m., followed by a brief service. Entombment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jessamine Humane Society. Chris will forever be loved and his memory cherished.
