LEXINGTON, Ky. - Emily B. Chipley, 89, widow of Rev. Carl Chipley, passed away Thurs. Feb. 28, 2013 at Mayfair Manor. She was born Oct. 10, 1923 in Irvine, KY and retired after 32 years of service from the Federal Correctional Institute. Mrs. Chipley was an avid UK Wildcats fan, enjoyed watching her favorite soap opera, “Days of Our Lives”, loved to travel and her beloved poodle, Gigi.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Jean Brandenburg and Maxine Garrison; special nephew and caregivers, Bill and Wanda Garrison; nieces and nephews, Beth Connor, Eddie Hivery, Nancy Wells, and Pat Willis; and several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their special thanks to Dr. Terrance Furlow for all the years of taking care of our loved one, to Mayfair Village, Mayfair Manor, and Norma House for all their loving care and support, and to Mrs. Ester Potts for being a great roommate and friend for the past year.
Funeral services will be 12:30 pm Tues. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Bro. Jesse Baldridge. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10:30 am Tues. until the service time at the funeral home.
