Mary Jo Wentworth McClure, 74

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Mary Jo Wentworth McClure, 74, wife of James T. McClure, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013.

She was an Associate Professor and Registered Nurse at Eastern KY University. Born in Louisville, KY, she was a daughter of the late Claude Ephraim and Corinne Shields Wentworth.

She received her Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in nursing from the University of KY. Mary Jo was a member of Southland Christian Church and AWHONN. She lived for her family, students, mothers and babies.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Sean McClure; a daughter, Heather Lynn Barnett; a brother, Don Wentworth; grandchildren Alexis Hope Barnett and Amy Madeline and Merrick Archer and a special niece, Debbie Cornelius and nephew, Ricky Wentworth.

A memorial reception will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday at Milward-Man O’ War, 1509 Trent Blvd where a Celebration of Life will be held at 7 pm.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Ovarian Cancer Support, Inc. (BOCS), P.O. Box 4404, Midway, KY 40347 or Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 1900 Richmond Road, Lexington, KY 40502.
