LEXINGTON, Ky. - Robert Paul Thomason, 87, husband of 65 years to Norma Jean Wallace Thomason, passed away Mon. March 11, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. Born in Jan. 28, 1926 in Scott County, KY, he was the son of the late Paul and Cornell Thomason. Mr. Thomason was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired from the VA Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by his family.
Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Patricia (Lloyd) Bruner, Wilmore, KY, and Anita (Bill) Hall, Nicholasville; two sons, David (Sheryl) Thomason, Berea, KY and James Thomason, Louisville, KY; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, James (Nancy) Thomason, Jefferson, GA; and three sisters, Arnetta (Mel) Motes, Ocala, FL, Linda (Ollie) Covington, Georgetown, KY and Diana (Mike) Belden, Clayton, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Robert P. Thomason, II. The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Bluegrass Health and Rehab for their love, attention, and help.
A graveside service and burial will be held 2:30 pm Wed., March 13, 2013 at The Lexington Cemetery by Chaplain Neal Myers. Pallbearers will be Mark Hall, Matthew Hall, David Grant Thomason, Johnny Thomason, Travis Thomason, Christian Beckley, and Adam Beckley. No visitation is planned.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. in charge of the arrangements.
