LEXINGTON, Ky. - McGee, Alice Irene Hork, 95 of Lexington, Ky fondly known as "Honey," passed peacefully on Thurs, March 14, 2013, 2013. Alice was born July 6, 1917 in Hamilton, Montana to Anthony and Mary Hork. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard, and sisters Marian and Margaret. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, William R. McGee DVM, son William R. McGee, Jr. and his wife Judy, son R. Michael McGee and his wife Mary, grandchildren Regan (Kari) McGee, Ali McGee (Danny) Kelly, and Michael McGee, a great-granddaughter Kyra McGee, and a step-great-granddaughter Elise Miller.
Alice attended Hamilton High School where she met Dr. McGee. She attended the University of Montana and Nurse's Training at Gonzaga University. She and Dr. McGee were married on June 7, 1940 in Idaho, shortly after his graduation from veterinary school, and just prior to their move to Lexington where Dr. McGee would begin his career with Hagyard & Hagyard, later known as Hagyard, Davidson, McGee and Hagyard Equine Medical Institute.
Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 10 AM Tues, March 19, 2013. The family will be available to visit with friends at 9:30 AM prior to her service. There will be a private burial at Lexington Cemetery. The family would like to express gratitude to Hospice of the Bluegrass and the outstanding caregivers of Accessible Health Care.
