LEXINGTON, Ky. - Esther Elizabeth Schreiber passed to glory on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2013 to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born May 20, 1928 in Grosse Pointe, MI to John and Anna Toepler.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Milton J. Schreiber, and her children: Nancy (Dr. Charles) Johnson, Judith Schreiber, Catherine Schreiber, and Carol (David) Pickering. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Ethan, Betsie, and Nate Johnson.
She is also survived by her siblings, Marvin (Betty) Toepler, Ruth Klein, Margaret (Victor) Seipke, William (Nancy) Toepler, many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Lodz Nash. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Richard and Walter. Esther was a professional secretary who had worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Chrysler, and the Michigan Education Association from which she retired. She loved entertaining, made friends easily, and had a special heart for international students many of whom have remained lifelong friends. She was funny and warm and always interested in traveling and seeing new things. We are all very blessed to love and be loved by Oma.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday evening at Kerr Bros. Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Rd. Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Nate BeVier officiating. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Nate Johnson, and David Pickering.
