LEXINGTON, Ky. - Glenn Fugate, 59, of Lexington, KY passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Mr. Fugate, son of Arminda Noble Fugate, Enon, Ohio, and the late Claude Fugate, retired as a teacher from the KY School for the Deaf in Danville, KY. He was a member of Woodland Christian Church and a member of the Honorable Order of KY Colonels.
After graduating from Greenon High School in Springfield, Ohio in 1971, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Berea College in 1975 and later his Master’s Degree from Western Maryland University.
He is survived by his partner, George Pinson, Lexington; two brothers, Rev. Montie (Teresa) Fugate, Campbellsville, KY and Rev. Ed (Adina) Fugate, Larue, OH; one sister, Marta (William) Lott, Enon, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A dedicated family man, Mr. Fugate loved reading and was an avid KY basketball fan. He enjoyed traveling and had journeyed to many parts of our nation and the world. Fluent in American Sign Language, he often volunteered as an interpreter. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generosity, and his love of animals, especially his rescued dog Gomez.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 PM Tuesday, April 2, at Milward Funeral Home on Broadway.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday, April 3, at the funeral home by Rev. Dalene Vasbinder.
A memorial service is planned for Thursday, April 4, at Atkin’s Funeral home in Enon, OH, followed by burial in the Enon Cemetery.
