Marva Jenelle Finch Paris

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Marva Jenelle Finch Paris, loving and devoted wife of 41 years to Rev. Kenneth E. Paris and loving mother of Kenya J. Paris departed this life at a local hospital on April 14, 2013.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mae Virginia Clark Finch and her father, Clarence G. Finch, Sr. Additional survivors include two brothers, Rev. Charles Robert Finch of Memphis, TN and Rev. Clarence G. Finch, Jr. of Houston, TX; two sisters-in-law, Linda Finch and Brenda Finch; three grandchildren, KaLynn Paris, Kenley M. and Josiah Cornelison, six aunts, one uncle, six nieces and four nephews. A host of cousins, devoted co-workers, patients and friends. Marva`s life was dedicated to helping people whether serving in the various churches where she and her husband pastored or in the medical fields of which she was employed. She was a life member of the Women`s Missionary Society as well as holding various positions on the Connectional, Episcopal, Conference, District and Local endeavors. Her love for people was shown in her dedication to the patients at the Dialysis Clinic and the University of KY Transplant Center where she worked for many years. She was a devout Christian who worked many years with the Young Peoples Department including Director of the YPD on all levels of the church. Her love for music was evident as she sang with every choir in the churches she and her husband served. Many occasions Marva and her husband were requested to lead solos and duets to the enjoyment of the parishioners where they served.

Funeral services will be at 12 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Consolidated Baptist Church, 1625 Russell Cave Road, Lexington, KY with entombment to follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6-7 pm Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Harrodsburg Road and from 11 am-12 pm on Saturday at the church.
