LEXINGTON, Ky. - William M. Green, 85, of Lexington, widower of Edna Gardner Green, formerly of Harrodsburg, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Richmond Place Rehab and Health Center.
He was the son of the late William M. and Ola Scott Green, Sr.
After retiring from farming, he worked part-time at KY Sporting Goods.
He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees, was a member of the United Methodist Men and was an usher.
A loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he was also an avid sports fan and faithfully followed the KY Wildcats, the Cincinnati Reds and the Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Chass, Ft. Myers, FL, Carol Evans, Hermitage, PA and Robin Hatton, Lexington; four grandchildren, Rachel, Melissa, Joshua and Wesley; two great grandchildren, Jonah and Maeryn.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Aubrey; three sisters, Anna McFarland, Gladys Wise and Myrtle Newman.
Funeral service will be 2 PM Tuesday at Milward – Broadway with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
