Dr. Joseph Franklin Pulliam, 49

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Dr. Joseph Franklin Pulliam, 49, beloved husband of Doreen Jezek, passed away Tues. April 16, 2013. Born in Frankfort, KY he was the son of Chester and Pauline Jackson Pulliam. He was an undergraduate of the University of KY, a graduate of the University of KY’s Medical School, and he was a pathologist at UKHealthCare. He had a personal vision of excellence in patients’ care and devoted his career to achieving his vision. Joseph was a compassionate soul who always took the extra step for his patients. Joseph was an avid bird watcher and protector of the environment. He loved gardening with native plants in order to provide a natural habitat for wildlife.

Survivors other than his wife and parents include two sisters, Rhonda (Sonny) Bayes, and Karen Pulliam; one brother, Darrell (Jan) Pulliam; one niece, Jessica (Justin) Howell, and her daughter Adrian.

A funeral service will be held 12:30 pm Fri. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Rd. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort, KY. Visitation will be Thurs. from 5-8pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Markey Cancer Center, 800 Rose St, Lexington, KY 40536, or the Local Audubon Society, http://audubonsocietyofky.org.
