LEXINGTON, Ky. - Charles Everett McElfresh, 82, loving husband of Frances Ann Eason McElfresh, of Lexington, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
A retired Lexington firefighter he was owner of Fayette Vending and Southern Refrigeration Company, in Lexington from 1969-1990. A native of Versailles, he was the son of the late Charles and Pauline McGoldrick McElfresh. He was a graduate of Henry Clay High School class of 1950. He was involved with Right for Life of Central KY and KY Republican Party in his retirement years.
Surviving are his children, Vickie (David) Gettler, Lexington, Pam (Andy) Rucker, Waco, KY, Gary (Starla) McElfresh, Nicholasville, Alan (Diana) McElfresh, Lexington, Dee Dee (Larry) McCoy, Wilmore and David (Shannon) McElfresh, Lexington; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A sister, Mary Thomas preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Thursday at Milward-Southland with interment at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass and Bluegrass Health and Rehabilitation.
